Day 3 of championships is probably the hardest day of all 3 days, the swimmers are physically and emotionally tired. With that said, the entire team had many PB and a few more broken records!The first event was the women's 200 BA where Idolyn Villiotti (JR) earned 2nd place (2:34.68). Mike Scharvella (SR) broke his own record by 2 seconds and earned 3rd place (2:23.06). Hunter Harris (SR) also had a PB placing 5th (2:37.81).
Gabby Spencer (FR) became conference champion in the 100 FR (1:01.82) while her team-mate Molly Heslin (FR) earned 8th with a PB (1:12.30).
Matt Sleezer (FR) was also a conference champion in the 100 FR (50.84) as well as breaking his own Wells record by almost a full second. His team-mates Taylor Dunn (FR) came in 6th (54.27) and Elvis Okumu (FR) came in 11th (1:00.82).
In the 200 BR Erika Bareiss (SO) earned 4th place (3:10.71). Drew Teter (JR) who normally swims fly earned 2nd place and a PB (2:36.34).
Caitlin Farris (JR) swim the 200 butterfly for the first time every at championships. Farris was even able to drop 8 seconds from Prelims earning 3rd place. Dan Schilling (SO) became a conference champion in the 200 Fly with a PB (2:24.24).
The final event for the 3 day championship was the 400 FR Relay. Swimmers, fans and coaches were all on the feet to cheer in the excitment of the final event. The women's A relay included Idolyn Villiotti (JR), Britta Kilbourn (FR), Erika Bareiss (SO) and Gabby Spencer (FR) earned 2nd place with a PB (4:15.16). The women's B Relay included Emily Northrup (SR), Molly Heslin (FR), Caitlin Farris (JR) and Gwenn Lillie (SO) earned 9th place.
The men's A relay including Drew Teter (JR), Mike Scharvella (SR), Taylor Dunn (FR) and Matt Sleezer (FR) earned 2nd place and only .19 away from 1st place. This relay also broke the Wells record (3:30.87). The men's B relay including Elvis Okumu (FR), Chris Guard (JR), Hunter Harris (SR) and Dan Schilling (SO) earned 7th place!
